Technicks

Techinicks are ablilties that do not consume MP when you use it, thought you will have to give something to use them. Some techinicks can cause damage in their own way or save a member of your party. A few of the technicks are useless when fighting foes. To use a technick you must 1) Buy a technick from a mercahnt and 2) buy the license require on the License Board.

Augments

Augments are bonuses that can mprove your character's abilities. The only thing you must do to aquire the augment is to buy the license for it on the License Board. After that, the ability will be there throughout the whole game. You should not judge the ability of an augment, it is very useful. It can increase your character's HP, battle time and even the effects of an item.
